Stunning Appearance

I LOVE this product! Extremely classy frame-less shower door kit - it glides smoothly and effortlessly. I initially considered a 'barn-door' style kit, with over-head hangers/rollers which are quite in vogue currently, but I think the Mirage gives the ultimate 'open' uncluttered appearance. For those who are unsure about the differences of the Mirage-Z compare with the Mirage-X, here are a couple of quick points: The Z is reversible all in single kit - can be installed with the sliding door on Left or Right; to that end the Glass Panels are also coated on both sides; The handle is nicer on the Z, with a full handle on inside vs the small knob on the 'X'; and the Z kit has a 'Strike' profile element on the wall into which the sliding door closes - on the 'X' this part is not included, so the door just closes to the tile face - the addition of this part is essential if you have an out-of-plumb wall at that end, and if so, without it you would have a tapering gap between the panel edge and the wall; in my case the wall was plumb, but I think that strike profile creates a more-finished visual appearance regardless. I would recommend spending the relatively small difference for the Z kit over the X. Here is some advice on acquiring this product - it is HEAVY! There are several on-line facilities that offer free freight shipment to your door - take advantage of that! You can potentially source this product locally - however I would strongly advise against thinking you can simply load this in your SUV, so consider delivery as a component of your purchase. The kit came extremely well packaged with more than adequate protection inside the carton, which was additionally mounted on a pallet. I chose to unpack the carton outside after the briefest of attempts to lift it!! That made much more sense and the single glass panels, even though the largest size (30 x 72 each), were individually manageable for two people to lift and carry. The installation instructions were generally very good - do take the time to read through and familiarize yourself with all the parts and the process BEFORE you start. Another nice feature of the kit is that ALL of the parts have an ID number on their individual packaging which matches the diagrams in the install guide - so it is very easy to ID the correct part for each step. It should be well within the remit of most competent DIY - again I will re-iterate to be aware of the weight, you WILL need a helper (most of it was solo with just assistance required to move the glass panels into position); there are only two components that require to be cut to length for your custom installation. Another tip is in regard to drilling on tile or stone surface - place masking tape on the tile in locations where holes will be and mark directly on that; then use good quality drills specific to the medium - slow and steady is the method here! Starting slow on the masking tape will ensure that the drill does not wander and you end up with a hole perfectly aligned to your component! One other piece of advice if you are DIY - invest in Glass-Suction handling devices - I bought a pair of of double-cup devices on-line for under $30! Absolutely a requirement and a small investment to make the job manageable. As per the title of my review, it says it all - this is a really stunning kit that is of a level you might find in high-end custom homes. I am delighted with this purchase and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Added class to bathroom

Its been about two years and the door looks as good as new. The frameless look is exactly what we wanted and it holds up to a family of 4 daily "beating". Love the look and the quality.

Frameless Sliding door has an ugly frame.

The glass door is great but the frame looks horrible. That supposed to be a frameless door, unfortunately… If I only knew sooner. The advertised website pictures look totally different. Waste of money on my part.
