The hype is real! Worth the little extra cost.

I purchased my 2005 Toyota Avalon brand new and have had Toyota do the regular maintenance for the life of the car. I always ask to see the filter when they change it for two reasons. To make sure the guys didn't get lazy and not change the filter, and to see the quality of the oil and how much funky stuff was taken out. I asked the service manager, what oil they use for my car and if he would recommend a better/different oil. He said they always use Mobil 1 bulk oil (at this particular dealership) and if I wanted to switch to a full synthetic he would recommend the High Milage. So I researched a little more myself and decided that the next oil change I would switch. He said I could go 7500 miles instead of the normal 5,000 mile service interval but I told him lets keep it at 5,000 miles for the first oil change. When I asked to see the filter, the Mobil 1 high milage had broken down all kinds of sludge and I was surprised how nice the oil looked. Normally at a 5,000 mile oil change, the oil would be black and thin. This was quite thick and had slightly darkened but was still brown in color. I am impressed with the quality of this product and how much more quite and how smooth my engine is running. I wish I had made this switch sooner.

Working well in an 18-year-old truck

Have been using this oil for a year now in a 1997 Ford F250 service truck I puchased at auction. The truck is a former county service vehicle with the 4.6 V8 that had 128000 miles when purchased and has had a hard life. The county garage uses conventional oil in it's older vehicles, so I wanted to stay with a conventional oil, but use something with a little more protection. This oil seemed perfect for the job. I've put 12000 miles on it so far using only this oil. The oil consumption has been very acceptable considering the age and miles already on the truck. Even in the winter at 10 below zero, the oil pressure comes up quickly on a cold start. I generally change oil at around 5000 miles. The old oil looks good and feels right, with no burnt smell. I could probably safely up my miles between changes. So far this oil has been working very well for me.
