Great bulb

I was looking to replace a CFL BR40 and this was I kept gravitating towards. The light is instant on and color temp is perfect. I'm replacing a standard switch with a led compatible dimmer. I look forward to not replacing these bulbs for a long time.

Good CFL replacement

I purchased one of these to replace a CFL that burned out. It clearly outperforms the CFL but the pricing is painful. Additionally, the packaging is needlessly difficult to remove. What were they thinking?

Excellent option for replacing BR40 cfl light

7+ years ago I started replacing my normal BR40 lights with cfl equivalents. I tried several companies, but ended up with Philips because they were more consistent when it came to colour. The new led versions are a vast improvement. Besides looking better, they are slightly brighter. The only problem I had is getting it out of the package. Suggest Philips looks at making easier to take out.
