Beefhide is not a food, but is a safe chewable toy that can be, and most often is, consumed. It is 80-85% protein, 10-12% fiber and moisture, and 1-2% fat. Beefhide is high in protein and low in fat, especially when compared to pig ears and other pork skin products. Beefhide has fewer calories per ounce than a typical dog biscuit. One or two hours of daily chewing are sufficient for most dogs.

Loved the chew!
My dog enjoyed this chew. He did a sniff test first %26 that was enough for him to grab it and chew on it for 2 hours. I liked the texture that seemed to be cleaning his teeth while he chewed. I took it away after 1 hour and checked to make sure that there were no sharp edges to hurt his gums, and there weren't, so I gave it back to him and he continued chewing happily. I look forward to watching him chewing on it again today.

well they do smell good but they are meant for big dogs, I have a little dog and them are very hard for him and I tried to softened it in water and cut it up can't do plus the color comes off. so if you giving it a your dog I would suggest you do it outside.
