melted right in the bag

The instructions said youd have about 8 mins to get this fuel tank repair epoxy on. I mixed it for about 1 min and then it was too runny to apply, it then got too hot to hold and started smoking and melted the bag it came in. I grabbed a rag to hold it and then it turned to gel in less than 5 minutes. complete waste of money
