Love this feeder!

My husband has been wanting a bird feeder since last summer. I'm into mason jar crafts and was showing him photos of DIY mason jar bird feeders one day. He really liked them. I ran across this feeder one day while searching the web and Walmart had the lowest price so I decided to buy him one as a Christmas gift. He loves it! It's a pretty, blue, vintage style mason jar which screws onto a small chick feeder. The bottom of the chick feeder has a wire base which serves as a perch for the birds as they eat. The top of the jar (it's actually the bottom) also has a wire wrapped under a lip with a looped handle for attaching chain or cord for hanging. This feeder will hold 1 pound of bird seed and is easy to fill and clean. You could put the jar in the dishwasher to sterilize before filling it with seed for the first time. It will take time at first for birds to find the feeder but be patient. Once they do they'll come back for feeding again. Wish it included chain for hanging but you can find #16 jack chain and snap spring hooks fairly cheap. We really like this feeder and plan to purchase the matching waterer.
