- Remove height clip - Remove the height adjustment clip using both thumbs and upward force. This will help to remove the height adjustment clip more easily.
- Adequate height - The user must be upright on a firm, flat surface, placing the handle at the level of the trochanter (hip).
- Height adjustment - Once the crutch handle is at the correct height, place the adjustment clip on the corresponding adjustment.
- Forearm adjustment - Adjust the height of the forearm below the elbow by removing the forearm adjustment clip as in step 1 and placing the clip at the appropriate setting.

- If measurement A that goes from the floor to the trochanter (hip) is greater than 22.5" and less than 29.5", the infant crutch is suitable.
