Do it right save a bundle over sod with this seed

Okay. I live in Eastern Washington State and went to Walmart to pick up one seven pound bag and one 3lbs bag of seed for about 1600 sq feet. I would seed about 6 lbs of this per 1000 sq feet for a new lawn. I roto-tilled and de-rocked my soil which was no small job because I had lots of rocks and bolders in the ground when I started. I watered the soil for about a week and re-raked it twice before I planted to let the soil settle after roto-tilling it. I found a really good method to make a leveler drag tool out of 4 2x4s from a guy on YouTube. Boy did that get my ground level easy. Make sure you that the seed is touching the soil (very Key point) and it does germinate a little faster if you rake it in about 1/4 inch only. Than use a tamper or roller to set the seed to the ground and then top with a light dressing of peat moss. Keep the ground damp I watered about 4 times a day. Don't get hung up on it comming up in a week it will take 12-14 days to start showing. I planted in mid April when the temps were between about 40 and 65 degrees. They say that it is bet that the temps be between 45 and 75 for new lawn germination. Mine being done this way looks like it is going to be a very good lawn soon as it grows a month or two. I was so glad I picked the Pennington seed because I put so much effort into this lawn and now it will pay off. Do it right with this seed and you will be very happy!

WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT!

I purchased this product in mid-July, it is now the end of August and we have a full covered area of grass which was recently occupied by 3 maple trees for the last 20 years in our backyard. I am extremely pleased with this product, the grass looks beautiful. I just tilled the ground, spread the product around the vacant area, watered it twice a day and there it is!

Pennington Sun & shade mix

Planted this in a area that gets about 2-3 hrs of sun a day in mid August buy the first week in September it had grown about 2-3 inches and started to DIE. I had fertilized and followed ALL of the directions. worked O.K. in the areas that HAS 4-6 HRS OF SUN. Will not buy for shade areas again. Iam trying Scotts now but do not think it will do any better.
