We used Pennington Sahara II Bermudagrass Seed for a lawn remediation project in late spring in North Carolina (Zone 7b), and overall it performed decently well, especially considering the price point. We prepped the soil with nutrient-rich topdressing and used a straw blanket to protect the seed. After several weeks, we've seen moderate germination and a fair amount of green-up, especially around the edges of the seeded zones. The seed definitely sprouted in the sunnier spots and is starting to fill in, which shows its drought and heat tolerance is legit. That said, we did run into a few common Bermuda issues: • Patchy coverage in the middle of the run, even with proper watering. • Slower establishment than expected, especially under shaded areas or near hard surfaces. • Uneven growth, possibly due to leftover straw and sunlight variation. We're planning a second light overseed and a nitrogen boost to thicken it up, but the seed is definitely alive and working—you just need to manage expectations and give it the right environment. Would I buy it again? Yes—for large areas where cost is a factor and I'm willing to do the prep and follow-up care. For more premium turf goals, I'd probably mix in a finer variety like Arden 15 down the road.

No planting instructions.

Does not include planting g instructions, best use , time of year for best use, etc. I planted in Sept with poor results. Might be the users fault for planting out of season. Might be good seed just do your research before using. Came to me in a clear plastic bag and not the one shown.

Hello! Seed Ranch is an authorized seller of Pennington's that can distribute seed at a smaller weight. However, the seed analysis tag is supposed to be sent with the seed purchases. We would recommend reaching out to Seed Ranch to discuss your purchase with them.
