Pennington Pensacola Bahiagrass Grass Seed, for Full Sun, 3 lb.

I've been trying out a few different grass seed types looking for something that will grow in the hot Florida temperatures and sandy soil. I've created a 3'x5' patch in the back yard to try out this Bahiagrass and I'm seeing results in 10 days. I'm also trying the Zoysia mulch and seed in a patch right next to the Bahia but have not seen any results after 10 days. I first cleared each patch of any kind of grass or weeds and put down a thin layer of top soil. I then sprinkled the seeds evenly over the patches and covered them with another thin layer of top soil. I water the patches daily keeping the soil moist most of the time. And presto the Bahia is sprouting in 10 days. Nothing so far on the zoysia patch but the directions say visible results in 30 days so maybe in a few weeks it will sprout. I also previously tried Bermudagrass. It sprouted but beware it's like the grass you see on golf course putting greens. Not really what I wanted for my yard. This review is submitted in late April to give you an idea of the best time to plant grass seed. So start seeding around the first of April before it gets too hot.
