Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Pen, Fine Point, Black, Box of 12

Got for my son who prefers these.

I love the design of this pen. I tend to press hard when I write, so when I write or draw a lot, my hands feel stained and the parts of my fingers that grab the pen literally hurt. But not with this pen. One, it is almost as thick as a brand name permanent marker, so reduces/prevents strain and cramping. Two, there is no bump or divot near the top, so no matter how I hold it, it won't dig into my fingers. And it glides nicely enough that I can both furiously take notes with it, and make line drawings. It is not the smoothest, but pretty smooth. And it dries quicker than other gel pens, though it can still smear if you go over it immediately, so might not be best for left handed people. Only one of the about 3 dozen of these that I've used over the last 6 years has given me trouble: it was scratchy instead of smooth, and the ink leaked from the tip and made a mess. Other than that, love the pen. Wish it came in blue and red too.
