chemical order hinders an otherwise great product

I tried these mats as soon as they arrived and they fit perfectly as I had hoped. However the chemical oder was far too strong and I removed them. Right now they are hanging over a railing outside hoping the oder will go away in the sun and fresh air. So far after 2 days, there is no change in the order strength. I keep turning each one over about once every 2 hours. Otherwise the mats look and fit great. Anyone from the factory or recent purchasers have any suggestions on how to remove or significantly reduce the chemical or to a tolerable level?
