Paddington Bear first appeared in a 1958 British children?s book, A Bear Called Paddington,written by Michael Bond and has been featured in over twenty books, which have been translated into over 30 languages. Most recently illustrated by R.W. Alley, Paddington is a stowaway who came from ?Darkest Peru? to London?s Paddington Station where Mr. and Mrs. Brown discover him wearing an old hat and duffle coat, sitting on his battered suitcase with a note attached to his coat that reads, "Please look after this bear. Thank you." The Brown family take him home and name him ?Paddington?.

Paddington is kindhearted with a love of marmalade and an endless capacity for innocently getting into trouble, yet he tries so hard to get things right.
