For the value I order the Epson XL, it just makes sense to have the extra colors on hand. The other colors are also used to create the black color as well therefore all the ink is important. I use regular stock printing paper and the ink prints out very well, legible text without smudging. I won't use comparative brands due to bad reviews and lack of compatibility.
