The HDMI2VGA HDMI® to VGA converter converts digital HDMI or DVI video signals to analog VGA, taking the input resolution from your device and converting it into an analog signal at the same resolution.

Works great. Good quality picture.
The secondary monitor port on my computer is an HDMI port. My flat screen monitor doesn't have an HDMI input, so I chose to use this HDMI to VGA converter to drive the flat screen monitor via its VGA input. The picture is of great quality and the resolution it supports goes all the way up to 1920x1200, even though I'm only using it at 1280x1024. I didn't try the audio functionality since I'm only using it to drive a flat screen monitor. So I can't comment on the quality of the audio. This device is ready to go right out of the box. There are no drivers that need to be installed on the computer. Just plug it in and go. Keep in mind that this unit does not come with a VGA or HDMI cable. It only comes with a power supply and a "VGA to Component Breakout Cable" which you most likely won't use unless you're hooking this up to a component display.
