This is a simple, well-designed every day pitcher that is easy to use. We can add ice and refill with water directly from our fridge dispenser -a more bulky pitcher might not allow that. You depress the top button on one end to allow pouring and press the other end to close. I can't say if it is leakproof, but it seems sturdy enough that if you knocked it over it while it's closed it would stay shut. The lid is firm but easy to get on and off. The button is also firm but easy to push open and closed. Another good feature is that it's super easy to wash with no small hidden crevices that would be problematic to clean -so you don't have to worry about bacteria lurking around the lid if you wash it as needed. I would recommend this -it's quality for a low price. I was able to soak in hot sudsy water for a bit before first use without the hot water distorting it, and it holds it shape even when full. I don't plan to put this in the dishwasher -I think frequent dishwashing of plastic tends to distort it and also might leach stuff (although this is BPA free). Only thing to note is that the color is not as pictured (if that's important to you) -ours has a frosted body with teal lid and teal button that looks just fine. Finally, another thing I really like is that when you go to pour, some of your ice may go into your cup but it won't all fall in at once; it has a guard/catch that limits how much ice will fall in as you pour.

I have one of these from a few years ago and love it so I decided to get a few more for summer picnics. It does not leak when shaken and is easy to open and close. It would be nice if it came in different colors as the blue and lime green does not match my kitchen décor.
