Have always liked IR for clear signals...
IR (infrared) is always better than RF (radio frequency) when it comes to wireless headphones because there is so much less interference from other devices. We have 5 sets of IR headphones that we use in our home. Some newer tvs may require that you additionally buy an optical converter if your newer tv has an optical audio output jack. Walmart sells these ,too.

BAD earphones! Stay away from this stinker!
These are the worst earphones I have ever owned! They are hard, brittle and the Right speaker works only a tenth of the time before it cuts out and then I have to tap, wiggle or move it around before it will come back on. If I move my tongue inside my mouth it will cease working. The left speaker works continuously without any problems.
