Excellent Surf Casting reel!

I purchased a CLA 6000 model and used it on my 10'6 St. Croix Mojo on the Assateague surf.. Being a big fan of my Penn Spinfisher V 5500, the first noticeable difference was the extremely smooth line retrieval and provided good casting distances when throwing 1-3oz metals. Overall it's my favorite Penn reel to date and I look forward to putting it to the test with some larger fish when they migrate through.

Tough durable reels!

As a fishing charter captain I’ve used these reels for almost two years now (300+ fishing trips) and no major issues! We use the 2500s to catch redfish flounder trout black drum sheepsheads spade fish bluefish etc... Some of the redfish have been 35”+

Ive used the reel which was matched to a 7 foot st croix avid series rod. Ive been using penn fierce 3 series reels which I like a lot. The clash is definitely a step or two from the fierce. Ive used it on one trip and caught four pike. This reel is smooth and seems very well built. I got a 4000 series for $ 130.
