It holds more than you expect it to! I bought this with the intention of using it for a conference bag with only a room key, cell phone, schedule, and lipstick inside. All the compartments now hold hand sani, headphones, earplugs, a little wallet, pens, markers, 7 lipsticks (don't judge me), car keys, mints, and some times an extra pair of toddler undies for my 3yo. Perfect summer mom bag for travel and theme parks. The strap is long so you can wear it as a “belt bag.” There are plenty of zipper pockets so if you pack it well, you can carry everything you need. I'm not sure if it's considered waterproof but I wore it on a few water rides and nothing inside was wet.
