great EDC tanto folder

This knife is another good one from Ozark Trail. In fact this may be my favorite folder from them overall. The tanto blade is nice and holds an edge pretty well, the whole knife is put together nicely and fits in the pocket good. Only thing is it might be too thin for bigger hands because there isnt really a steel frame, just the plastic scales. Good overall though.

Another solid knife from Walmart. Never would have thought I could get such a decent knife for $10. This isn't my first Ozark Trail knife either, I have purchased several different ones over the last few years and am very happy with all of them. Whoever is making these please keep up the good work! Got a preview of the next two Ozark Trail knives to be released and while the price is going to be considerably more but in my opinion it's still very much worth it.

I have several of these Ozark Trail pocket knives. This is my fave. The tanto (?) two-part edge doubles as a paint or window scraper...turns out I use that feature a lot. It's thin and light in the pocket. I've removed the dumb belt clip as well as the two-piece riveted blade "knobs" that enables the knife to be opened more rapidly (less safely?) They're not needed and it's amazing how much better it feels in your pocket against your leg without them. (I carry my wallet in the same front pocket.) It's definitely too long for TSA and even my employer's rules it somewhat violates but a short knife that you can't control is a lot less safe than one like this you can get a full four fingers around. The blade lock isn't super robust but it springs well into place and gives plenty of confidence the blade won't close up on you. Everything seems like quality and to fine tolerances. The blade has a black (titanium nitride?) finish but the cutting edge is bare steel so I think the Ti is just a gimmick. Not sure how well it will sharpen back up but at this price I'm happy. (The two STRAIGHT edges should at least make sharpening easier.) The feel of an expensive knife may be nice but the pain when you lose it (thanks TSA) greatly outweighs the benefits. These $7 OT knives just make you feel good knowing if it's lost, you just go buy another one...for the cost of a good loaf of bread.
