Conjoin claims affinity for the likes of Allen Ginsburg, Elie Wiesel, Patti Smith, Malcolm X, The Monkees, the Minor Biblical prophets and the original punk Rockers from the late 1970's. This Brooklyn based Poet, actor, educator and self-proclaimed 'fun-razor' has gained a reputation for his wild and intense open- mic spoken word performances. On his debut disc, he's teamed up with Texas native Levi Martinez (ie Dugans) on guitars and production. The result is a potpurri of un-orthodox musical stylings from avante-garde to cantoral with lots of hard rock in between. Opening with the inarticulate cry of the Rams horn, Over and Out is a raw, often sprawling journey through the windmills of heart, mind and soul. Interspersed with wordless melodies, stories and chassidic manifesto are conventional lyrics as well as liturgical hebrew verse. 'Over and Out' features 20 songs poems of spirtiual yearning, paens to 'Hashem' (The Creator) and tributes to the Mystic Saints. Conjoin - riding high over the darkness and out into the light.
