Excellent Food for my dog!
I cant tell you how much I love this food! I have been on a dog food journey so to speak, because my Shetland Sheepdog is a very picky eater. I have always wanted to make sure any of my pets get the best food possible. I have tried many brands, and well frankly my dog didn't like them. I am so happy I gave this food a shot because my little girl loves it! She is a very active dog, we compete in agility, so a food high in protein was essential. My dog is also allergic to chicken, so having a food that has no chicken in it was hard to find, that also wouldn't brake the bank! This food is amazing, and I am going to recommend it to anyone who asks about what my dog is eating.

My dog is a picky eater. She would like all new food added into her diet but after a few days she suddenly doesn't care for it. She'd refuse to eat to the point she's vomiting for having an empty stomach for so long. This happened with the food before we bought Merrick Backcountry. We decided to try it out because it's rated 5 stars on DFA, grain free, the first ingredient is fresh meat, and the protein level is tolerable for our 12.5 lbs dog. The bag size I wanted of the Great Plains Red Meat was sold out so I decided on the Pacific Catch Recipe and it is a winner! Our dog would lick her bowl clean and would return to her already clean bowl after a minute or 2 just to make sure she got every last piece. I like how the kibble is small so she doesn't have to make much effort to chew. No stomach issues which is great. I've noticed less itching and tear staining.

Great food -- dog's coat shiny/allergies less
I love Merrick products and transitioned to this food for my Mini Schnauzer who is 9 years old and needed to lose some more weight (and wanted him off chicken) after I adopted him. Seamless transition from Healthy Weight; he went to the bag immediately (though he is a good eater, he loves loves loves the freeze dried fish). His stool is firmer, I don't have to feed as much and he has great energy, coat and allergies seem better. Another winning recipe from Merrick (only wish they would have more formulas of this--or all freeze dried). Highly recommend.
