Do not water to the point of run-off, and do not make applications in the rain. I just tried this ant killer this week. I put it on one big mound so far and the following day the ants were gone! I did not really expect it to kill them so fast. I looked to see if they moved elsewhere and thus far, I have not seen a new ant bed. The ants were small red ants.
