In addition, it kills both the mound and the queen, and keeps new mounds from forming. Use this pest control product on residential lawns, ornamental plants and flower gardens. To treat mounds, apply 2/3 cup of product over each fire ant mound and the surrounding 3-foot diameter. After application, drench the mounds with 2 gallons of water. Do not water to the point of run-off, and do not make applications in the rain. For best results, apply in cool weather (65°F to 80°F) or in the morning or late evening hours when ants are most active. Do not apply this product to vegetables. Do not allow people and pets to re-enter treated area until granules have been watered in and area has dried. I just tried this ant killer this week. I put it on one big mound so far and the following day the ants were gone! I did not really expect it to kill them so fast. I looked to see if they moved elsewhere and thus far, I have not seen a new ant bed. The ants were small red ants.

Awesome product with a "specific purpose"...to get rid of FIRE ANTS. Which I can assure those of you who have not done battle...no WAGED WAR...against these TINY insects, they can wreak havoc if they bite you!!! Not kidding! They also seem oblivious to other insecticides.
