Versatile, when you need extra light.

This work light is one of the best I’ve ever had. It runs off rechargeable battery so there isn’t a cord to limit where you can go with it when you need light. It puts out a decent amount of light (300 Lumens). It’s light weight, it has a magnet on the base so you can stick it to a metal area, or just hang it with it’s hook, or just set it upright on the table. I love that it not only has a flashlight beam with 2 settings, but it also has 3 wings that fold up and out when you need to light up a larger area. So you can use just the flashlight beam, just the wing lights, or both at once, which makes for a great versatile light. So far we’ve used the light while working on the truck, cleaning out the shed and while painting a basement wall. Tonight I used this when I had to run outside in the dark to rescue my cat from the bully cat down the road, and it lit up most of my back yard, which made me feel much braver. This work light uses USB to charge with, so it comes with a USB cable for charging with your PC, a 120 volt adapter to charge with electricity, and a 12 volt adapter to charge in the car. A handy added benefit that goes along with it is that you can use the work light to charge other devices that also use USB. But I couldn’t try that feature out because I don’t have anything else that needs USB to charge. I think this would make a great Christmas gift so I plan on buying several more for family members.

I love this light!

Stanley does make pretty good products, and this was no exception. My Stanley Satellite LED Rechargeable Work Light actually came charged. I was expecting to have to plug it in for a while before I could even try it out. Was a very pleasing suprise! On low, the light can run for 6 hours, which could come in handy during a blackout, car breaking down at night, as well as any number of situations. I was also impressed with the very sturdy feel of it. This worklight has several nice features. The long run time is wonderful. The fact that it's rechargeable means a money saver and that it will always be at the ready for any situation. It also serves as a 1 Amp USB power supply so you can power and recharge electronic devices such as speakers, cameras, phones, tablets and more. During power outages, it's nice to know you can recharge your phone, or if you are broken down on the side of the road, you can recharge your phone, if needed, to stay in contact with someone until you are safe. The worklight also has a fold down hook on the bottom so you can hang it from overhead while working on a car, or even hang it from a coat hanger in the closet while you search for things or clean, leaving your hands free. If there is no place under the hood of your car to use the hook, just find a metal spot, since there is a built in magnet in the base that is strong enough to hold your flashlight upside down for you. The worklight has a home charger so you can recharge it in a wall outlet, and it also has a vehicle charger so you can recharge the lithium battery thru your cigarette lighter. The head of the light swivels, so, standing on it's end, or hanging upside down, you can aim the light where you need it most. Even the brightness is adjustable, so you can just use the 'regular' type flashlight option, or open out the 3 area light panels for a super bright light. I am super impressed with this and would recommend it without reservations.

A light for all seasons

I am the kind of person who loves flashlights. I keep them all over the house, because I live in a state where the weather is volatile and we have had several blackouts due to storms, most notably a week-long outage due to an ice storm. Winter blackouts make nighttime seem much longer than it is. We went through a lot of batteries. So, getting the Stanley Satellite Work Light was an easy decision. My only worry was that this light would be difficult for me to figure out. As it turned out, opening the package was the only difficult task. Once I had the light in my hands, the setup was intuitive--I didn't need to consult the lengthy instruction sheet with its tiny typeface. Plug one end of the black double-sided USB cord in the slot in the center of the light (it's clearly marked "2 Way USB/Charge Unit/Charge Personal Electronics") and plug the other end into one of three options: a USB port in your computer, the USB port in the two-prong plug that comes with the light, or its USB-enabled car cigarette lighter plug. For the last, I assume you would only be able to charge the light if the car was running. I chose to plug it into my computer first so I could play with it immediately. To check the status of the charge, you need to press a small button just above the USB port. It should turn a steady red while charging and blue once it is fully charged. Flashing red means the battery is low; flashing blue means the battery is only partially charged. Charging takes five hours. The light will hold a charge for six hours, and its USB port will allow you to charge electronic items, which is a plus in times when there is no electric source. The on-off switch is yellow and sits directly below the USB port. The first click turns on the central light, making it into a flashlight. Click it again and the light dims. Click it a third time and the three satellite wings light up (but not the center light). Finally, a fourth click turns on all four lights. To turn it off, click one more time. The neatest function is this: hold down the power button for five seconds and all the lights will start flashing--a terrific way to get someone's attention in an emergency. When I started to read the instructions, I took note of the many warnings associated with the rechargeable lithium-ion battery, those associated with charging the light and those informing me of how hot the LED lights can become. Be sure to read ALL the safety warnings, as I'm not going to repeat them all here! The lights are extremely bright. The unit can be used for any function a flashlight performs, as the wings fold neatly down on the sides to make yourself visible on the darkest street or to help see through the darkness. The light will be very handy for its named function, which is for work. Towards this end, the light has a magnetized base that holds onto any steel surface (like the hood of a car) and its head pivots 90 degrees to aim light at the work area. It also has a neatly-tucked hook at the end for hanging up the light for work, lighting, or storage. Altogether, I am extremely impressed by the way the Stanley Satellite Work Light is designed and how well it works. I recommend this highly to who needs a bright work light, flashlight, or just a light to get you through a dark night.
