I mike that it is more shallow and wide. Much easier to drain things or clean, etc. I looked at several others before deciding on this because the others were too tall and would be clumsy to drain into sunk, for my needs. I use these for soaking and washing my hummingbird feeders in. I can definitely recommend these to people who cook/bake as well. Washes very well in dishwasher, if preferred. Easy to clean by hand as well. Shiny is nice!

This is a great mixing bowl for the price. I have 4x different brands and Vollrath is the best. It is great quality, and very comfy to work with. I'm using mostly for bread making. Now, waiting for some great deal to buy the set of 5 PCs, since need different sizes. I recommend this product
