I wanted a wood comb for my long, wavy, high-density hair for use after showering. I was leery about the purchase because some reviews but thankfully my brush came perfect. It's lovely to feel with a smooth surface and has a good weight to it that makes it feel luxurious. I had no stray wood splinters in mine so it was perfect. I love brushing my hair with this retro curved wood comb--I feel like a princess. The coloring was very similar to what was pictured in the listing which was another part I was nervous about. But I know wood will be in different tones if it's real so I was okay if it wasn't exactly as pictured.

A beautiful investment in your hair care!

This sandalwood comb is a beautiful hair tool, and of fine craftsmanship quality. Smooth finish, the teeth have smooth, rounded tips to help massage your scalp as you comb (I got the fine tooth because my hair is fine). A good size for your hand, with some weight. The natural sandalwood scent is very pleasant to me, and not strong. So much better for hair and scalp than plastic, although I still use my plastic wide tooth for wet hair. This comb is wood, and should not be used on wet hair or with water. You could clean it with water but use a towel to dry it thoroughly. I just clean it with a dry towel. One of the benefits of the wood comb is to catch and distribute your natural oils through your hair! This "seasons" the comb. A great investment in your hair care and would make a unique gift. Also - my comb was damaged en route, and the company quickly sent me another with no hassle whatsoever! Would order from them again.
