This truly is a whole nutrition center!

I've been juicing for about eight months now, and I've been saving up for a masticating juicer for four months. I finally took the plunge and got the Omega NC800 today, and it's without a debt the best investment I've made since I bought my car! I went a little crazy after unboxing it and made different juices for all my family members. My two-year-old niece even tried the purple cabbage juice, but wound up opting for plain apple. Then I tried grinding coffee, which worked like a dream. I like a very fine grind, which is exactly what this produces. I would not recommend using it to grind beans for a French press, but for me it's perfect. After the coffee, we made a frozen mango puree and a sundae with frozen bananas, roasted peanuts, and cacao. It blew me away. We even used this to make mashed potatoes (mixed with avocado instead of butter) and they came out so creamy! I don't eat a lot of pasta, but I'm sure the Omega will stand up to the task should I ever decide to make my own. I'm definitely going to get my money's worth from this machine.

I just purchased this juicer a few days ago, and so far, my family loves it. I chose this juicer over others because I wanted to primarily juice greens, and my understanding is that horizontal auger juicers do much better with greens than other juicers. I also wanted the machine to be easy to clean, because I knew if I got a juicer that was a pain to clean, it would not get used. This machine, and this brand in general, gets very favorable reviews, and this brand has an excellent warranty. Also, it was affordable, as I was able to get an excellent price on it in conjunction with a coupon I had for a local retailer. This unit easily processes anything we have given it. Lots of kale, cabbage, lettuce, entire carrots, full stalks of celery, apples, a bit of pineapple, etc. With carrots and celery, if you place the pieces down toward the left side of the chute, it easily grabs the produce and grinds away. Carrots self feed. The celery, we had to apply very light hand pressure to get it started, then it self feeds. The strings did not get caught on the auger at all using full, uncut stalks. Sometimes the last 2 inches of carrots will fall sideways due to the larger feed hole and just sit on top of the auger. So you will have to use the pusher a bit or put something else it to help it grab. Apple slices can do the same thing, but if you cut each apple slice in half so you have a chunk, it seems to work better. The machine is very quiet, but when juicing, the produce makes it squeak. You can hear this on some YouTube videos. The pulp is fairly dry. I tried to run the pulp back through the machine, and it did produce a small bit more juice, but it also dripped out a lot of pulp into the juice. A fair amount of the pulp from the end of the 2nd run just seemed to spin around in the machine rather then eject and made it a lot messier to clean up. But, interestingly, the pulp that did not eject the 2nd time was VERY wet. My conclusion is that it is not worth it to run the produce through a 2nd time. However, if you have a juice press, you would likely get a nice yield from the pulp. The parts are NOT dishwasher safe, but everything just rinses off (no scrubbing), except the stainless screen, which has to be scrubbed with the brush. The machine does not come with a strainer. It does leave some pulp in the juice, so if you want a smoother drink, you may want to pour the finished juice through a strainer. The only negatives so far are that the top of the feed chute does not detach from the bottom part, and the collection cups to not nest. So it takes up a lot of room. I showed my kids how to use the machine and now they have been happily juicing too (and making it for me!) The manual that comes with the machine is very basic and does not include any recipes. Also, there is not a warranty registration card included in the package. You will have to go to the Omega Juicers web site to register your juicer for the warranty. I have not used any juicer before except a very old Champion for a couple of days, and that was a nightmare. It did carrots ok, but it was worthless for leafy greens. The produce just spun around and around the gear and barely ejected and the plunger took brute force to push down.

The Zeus of Juice

For starters I would like to thank Rob for his outstanding customer service. He was honest and straightforward about his companys' product. This was the big selling point for me, honesty and straightforwardness. He recommended the juicer that met my needs and listening to him I could hear the pride he took in his companys' product and how he stood by it, whether I bought the product or not. The Juicer speaks for itself. It truly is an outstanding juicer and does it as a cold presser. It squeezes the juice out of everything and that is great. I think if I go through that machine it will probably squeeze the juice out of me....Just a joke. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this juicer to all my juicing friends. I am a Paramedic with the FDNY and juicing is one of the healthiest approach in your quest for better health.
