I did have to use a knife to cut into four long pieces and then again cutting it in half making it shorter pieces. He initially hesitated but with some encouragement he tried it. These were great have a 12-year-old husky and he loved them we give them to him as a treat during the day in between his meals we also share them with our Daughter's dog who's about 4 who also loves them sometimes we split them in half so each dog gets a half I'd definitely recommend these especially since my husky can be picky but ❤️ these.
