OPTASE® HYLO Night is recommended to patients who are in need of 24-hour relief and protection from severe symptoms of dry eye. If you’re symptoms are impacting your quality of sleep or leading to discomfort in the morning this night-time ointment can soothe symptoms for up to 6 hours.OPTASE® HYLO Night™ relieves night-time symptoms of burning, irritated, dry eyes by forming a comfortable long-lasting protective film on the eyes. A soft and consistent ointment to help protect the surface of the eye. Is well tolerated and the active ingredients White Petrolatum, Lanolin, and Light Mineral Oil relieves dryness of the eye and protects against further irritation and exposure.

Apple a small amount (one-fourth inch) to the inside of the eyelid
Instructions
Directions: Remove the protective cap. Tilt your head backwards and gently pull on the lower eyelid, using a finger of one hand. With the other hand, hold the tube in an upright position above the eye. Without touching the tip of the tube to our eye or eyelid, instil one strip of eye ointment into the gap formed between the eye and eyelid by gently squeezing on the tube. Close your eye gently then blink normally. Replace the cap firmly back onto the tube. To avoid contamination, do not allow the tip of the tube to touch the eye or any other surface.

My eye doctor recommended optase for my severe dry eye. The stuff works very well.i use it at night when I'm ready to shut my eyes for the night. I will only use this ointment. It might be a little expensive but well worth it. Seems to take the scratchiness out very fast.

What a relief!
This ointment is helping my eyes so much. I've had posterior vitreous detachment in both eyes, along with many, many floaters. My eyes have become so dry that it felt like sandpaper every time I blinked. Since I've been using the ointment (2+ months) every night, the dryness has improved immensely. Plus, my vision care folks said it's great to use because of the Vitamin A, which my eyes need. Yay!
