this is the second time that I i bought this product: Nutricost plain psyllium husk. I have also tried "Now" brand for same product, similar price from Walmart. They seem equal in price and benefit. Ii would have bought an Equate/ Walmart branded plain psyllium husk, but strangely only flavored versions are made/ offered (ugh) personally, the unflavored version is much more versatile as it can be mixed into anything w no added calories. I have watched my dad gulp the original Metamucil orange flavored metamycil for years and felt like I would gag seeing it thicken his OJ and the remnants in his glass are difficult to wash out . Then my Colon doctor recommended "Metamucil" for constipation.. and it is also used in Indian culture for centuries... and is used in gluten free cooking. This, and the identcal "Now" Brand seems to be an identical and a much cheaper choice than the better known name brand mentioned by my doctor. I am satisfied with this product and now use this, and the psyllium caps, daily. I have no issues w bloat, as i did w bran products. I mix it in my hot oatmeal as the last added ingredient before I eat the cooked oatmeal. Minor warning: this product will thicken hot beverages and hot moist food into "slime" within minutes, so eat it quickly once mixed. I'm sure someone what has already done the creative work to discover what art products may benefit from this side effect! PS, this is a different product than the brand name "Benefiber" and the Equate biosimilar "Clear Fiber", so read up on that as well...
