These knives are surprisingly well balanced. They are indeed sharp so do respect them and put them out of child's reach. They are so nice and the price is excellent. I would buy them again, hopefully not for me, as they look like they will last unless carelessly thrown away. But they would be a lovely house warming gift, bridal shower, or as part of a wedding gift for someone who enjoys cooking.
