Not Your Mother's Curl Talk Lasting Definition Flash Freeze Gel, Extra Strong Hold, 6 fl oz

I finally found my Jesus gel! Because it works miracles. I've been looking for a gel that has polyquaterium-69 as one of the top ingredients for a while and every other one is $25 or more. I have really coarse high density, 2C-3B hair. So it's not curly enough to curl uniformly and not wavy enough to go without product. I've tried a LOT of hair products since I stopped straightening it and they were all meh. They seemed to work well for other people but not for me. I tried NYM's curl cream on its own in the past and was unimpressed so I was hesitant to try their gel. But it's a game changer. It will dry crunchy. But IMO- you need that to get good hold. My hair laughs at a flexible hold product. And it can be scrunched out without flaking or I just put it up in a pineapple in a bonnet and sleep on it when it's about 90-95% air dried. That breaks the cast perfectly and I'm left with the perfect combo of hold and volume. My only complaint initially was the size. I wish they made it in a 16oz or bigger bottle but a little goes a very long way. Usually I need to use several handfuls of gel from other products like LA looks or Mielle's pomegranate mousse. But about the amount of toothpaste you'd put on your toothbrush is all you need. The texture of the gel is quite thick. Sometimes I thin it down with a sprinkling of water. But if it gives great hold, which it does, idgaf about the texture of the product. It doesn't leave a sticky residue or make your hair feel dry or tangly. The last time I used it with their curl cream and was even more impressed with how they played together. I even have a good amount of definition on the 3rd and 4th day which I never had from any other product. The pic I added is day 3 hair after walking my dog on a hot day. If you're on the fence about it- GET IT. You won't find a better gel at this price point.
