The Hakkapeliitta 9 Studded features a silica-infused rubber compound that stays flexible for enhanced winter traction, with an aggressive sipe-rich directional winter tread, Aramid-reinforced sidewalls, and a pattern of metal studs for traction in extreme winter conditions.

Great tires, studded at the factory, can't be beat
This is our fourth set of studded snow tires from Nokian (Hakkapeliitta 9 & 10 Studded). They come delivered studded from the factory, and you won't loose any studs during use like tires that are studded at the tire shop (bin there done that). This is the only winter tire brand I highly recommend, and have them on all our vehicles. We live in Western Massachusetts and experience heavy winters. We have a 1/4 mile steep driveway, and our cars handle the snow and ice like little tanks, traveling both up and down hill.

I put these on my 2008 Ford Crown Victoria as it was handling the Maine driving conditions very poorly. They perform excellently in all wet conditions, wet, slush, snow, and ice. I gave them a four rating on noise but you cannot expect studded tires not to make some noise. I would use these again.

Great studded snow tires for my wife's small car. She is a nurse traveling country roads to town. The snow tires perform as though no slick spots exist. More traction than my 4x4 pickup in winter. Plows through deep snow and slush as well. We have some moderate road noise from the studs on dry pavement. Pleased with the performance and tread life.
