What a 2023 Nexus 7 Would Be - Great Device!

This tablet is the perfect not-too-cheap that Kindle Fire 7s are and not-too-expensive that you feel bad about beating it up a bit. It's pretty much the 2023 version of what a Nexus 7 was back in the day. My wife has quasi-absconded with mine most nights, so we'll be buying one of her own soon. Highly recommended for a simple, pure-Android experience.

Excellent desk, couch, or travel companion

Overall, especially for the price, I'm very satisfied. The unit feels sturdy. Excellent size and weight for extended use - it feels compact enough to fit in pants pockets if you really needed to carry it that way. The way the speakers project sound towards you from the cup of your palms when you hold it in landscape mode is clever. Performance is smooth for video playback and some light gaming. I haven't put it through a lot of multitasking but it feels snappy switching between a few apps. The battery is adequate for a few days of light use without recharging. So far, the only thing I'd mention as a drawback is that the display tint tends toward warmer color temperature and contrast could be a little higher. However, the screen resolution is great for text and details.

Best in it's size class, and I've tried many

One of the few tablets in this size class to come with 4GB of ram and a decent processor. The second screen functionality is flawless and I've actually used it for multiple days in a row with no issue. For the price, it's the best in it's size class. I've tried 8" tablets from three other manufacturers and they are so slow in comparison. The one thing I wish it had was a vibration function. Was kind of surprised when I realized it didn't. But, honestly, I can overlook this.
