They grab

I have a 2014 Shelby GT500. 662 hp and 631 ft lbs of torque. 285 Goodyear F1 Super Car tires came on it. I hated them. Especially in the winter ! I could never put it on the floor in first gear and go, they just spin. When hitting second gear the car would go sideways. I put some 305 Nitto 555R drag tires on the back and wow, what a difference ! I can stomp it in first gear and going to second gear hard - you better be holding on, it takes off.

Far Exceeded my expectations

i purchased 305/40/18 for my slightly modified 2014 mustang. it was by far the best mod i have done, and i would go with NITTO every time if done again. My NT555R out perform a buddies MTs in every challenge we do. wet performance, dry performance and even shows people love the look of the NT555R. currently saving to get the matching NT555 for the front and get rid of the god aweful Pirelli tires.

2012 Ford Mustang GT

First off, I drive fairly conservative with an occasional bout of spirited driving. I purchased the NT555R 305/45/18 Drag Radials and mounted them on AM factory style 10" rims for the back of my 2012 Ford Mustang GT - manual trans, daily driver. I have replaced several intake and exhaust components on the car in addition to installing the Ford ProCal tune and 4.30 gears (California car - CARB legal). The rear LCA's and 3rd link have been swapped out, and air bag inserts have been added. Previously, the car would easily lite up the factory 235/50/18 Pirelli's in 3rd and even get 20 foot long, fish-tailing chips going into 4th gear at over 70 MPH! Both, 1st and 2nd gears, were pretty much useless. Traction Control seemed almost non-existent. Now, it hooks to my satisfaction. I will update once I get a chance to make some passes at the track, for the ultimate test. I currently have about one thousand miles on these tires so far. The car handles quite well for a Drag Radial and the wet performance doesn't seem to be an issue. (I was a little concerned about that aspect, since this IS daily driven). The taller height helped with respect to roll out, comfort and mileage. Recently, on a road trip that included a ride over the California Grapevine north of LA, I easily managed 24 MPG. ( I could easily increase this 1-2 MPG, especially on flat land). Current around town (mixed) mileage is at 19 MPG. The car looks good. I am using the NT555 235/50/18 up front.
