A long time ago I had a much lesser and more common name brand blender, sounds like Shamilton Screech, anyway big chunks of ice every time I would try and make a smoothie. Now! This baby! It makes stuff so creamy you'll think it's ice cream, I love it! I'm pretty busy and don't normally have time to cook so I drink a lot of my meals and this will hold plenty enough for that. My only complaint, and I would imagine this is pretty common with ALL blenders, but this Ninja isn't very quiet. My rescue cat runs for her life and my daughter who has autism hates this thing. I live in apartments so I literally carry my blender across the hall to the laundry room just to make my smoothies but I don't think you would have this issue with non scaredy cats and neurotypical children. I would but this again though as it really does make a bomb smoothie.

Of all the Blenders I have purchased in the past, this Ninja is by far the BEST. As for the quietness of the Blender, it is not as loud as I expected for a 1000 Watt motor. This Blender does virtually everything that it is advertised to do. I love the safety locking lid with the pour spout, it is a fantastic feature. The base has a bit of heft, but that is good for stability. The Pitcher is made of high impact Plastic which is lighter than Glass and presents no problems. Cleaning is a breeze and rather fast. If you are looking for a POWERFUL Basic Blender, then this is the one for you. As a side gift, it comes with an EXCELLENT Recipe booklet to get the best out of your New Blender.
