Great machine, software is not

The reason for my 'mixed' review is -- this is an excellent machine, but it's usefulness is marred by lousy software. The installation experience is a nightmare too in some cases. The scanner itself is quite fast, for both the sheet-fed (which is excellent) *and* the flatbed, though I did still get a few jams. As for the software installation: there is too much. It's a scanner - why have a half-dozen different software-downloads, with no clarity as to which one we want. I had to build a new desktop cptr, with fresh Win11, to get this to work.. with the USB connection. Never could get the Ethernet-connection to work. And that scanning software 'PaperStream ClickScan': it works. And it's fine once you get used to it. Mostly. But it does not measure-up to the quality of this machine.

bait and switch

Dear Sir/Madam, The scanner was received, however, when I had issues with the installation and called Ricoh/Fujitsu customer service, they told me that the scanner is not sold in the US. It is a scanner that is made for Canada and other countries, and it would carry no warranty since it is not a US Licensed scanner. The packing slip indicated that it was a US Licensed scanner, PA03810-B555, however what was received was PA03810-B551. I was advised by Ricoh/Fujitsu customer service that the (PA03810-B551" is not a US Licensed scanner when the number is followed with a "1" vs. "5" Photos to follow. Richard Bove
