I've heard this is the only thing that will actually work to shorten a cold or illness. I take it to prevent sickness, and so far, I haven't gotten sick. If someone says they're getting sick, I encourage them to take a lot of it. This brand is a good value for a pretty standard dose. You'll want to take several a day if you feel illness coming on. I take one a day as a preventive.
