National Hardware - V1951 Privacy/Bed & Bath Pocket Door Lock

The engineering in this product is quite innovative. The documentation is severely lacking. The documentation shows the door opening from right to left. Which is what I needed. The latch delivered opening is from left to right based on the latch going down versus latching up. I was quite upset until I realized the covers can be swapped using the two screws. In doing so you turn the inside and outside latch controls to the other side. As stated by the previous review, the knob to latch the does stick out an extra 1/8 of an inch. A standard 1/2 inch file will take care of this issue. Use the file on the pocket 2x4 not the latch itself. Works as advertized, with a little help

The idea of a pocket door is that the door fits in a pocket. The knob that locks the door sticks out past the width of the door preventing the door from fitting into the pocket. Design flaw. The knob should be 1/8” shorter..
