Sony XS-R6945 4-Way 6" x 9" Car Speaker

I was looking for a audio upgrade to my son's Chrysler Sebring convertible on a budget. I've had purchased the Sony 3-way 6.5's for my pickup truck and was presently surprised with the clarity and punch they have. Based upon that experience I went with these 6x9 4-ways and again was very pleased with the performance. We installed a Jensen receiver which pushed 50watts RMS per channel at 4 Ohms, which was a perfect match for these speakers. The highs and lows come in very clear without distortion when cranked. Not much adjustment in the equalizer settings was needed to get realistic audio through the speakers. Yet when you want the bass punch it is most certainly there. In tuning the stereo gain to match the car's acoustics I pushed the volume pretty high. These 6x9's were mounted low in the door panels and I was actually feeling the bass punch exceptionally well through the leg bottoms of my jeans. I was really surprised that there was no audiable distortion coming from them at this level of volume. I would certainly say for the price one pays, these are exceptional speakers. I can't say how long they would last when played hard for extended periods of time. But I will say that my 6.5's have played very well for me for the past four years. I typically keep the volume in the lower 30% range for most the time, but on occasion will punch it over 60% when I have AC/DC playing through my Zune.
