Arrived in good condition, packed well in 50"x25"x~3" box. Fairly simple to put together, definitely need a mallet or hammer with wood block (to avoid dents and scratches) to get shelf brackets sunk into posts. One shelf bracket had bent end which needed about 10 seconds worth of straightening with pliers, but otherwise all was in perfect condition. For smaller items or those that will be prone to catching on metal grid shelf (like wheels of a shop vac), I recommend lining shelf with cardboard or a thin board. I cut 2 liners out of the cardboard box it came in. It is not as heavy-duty as other shelving I have but seems plenty strong and stable enough, though I would not push it to the 500lbs per shelf claimed in description.
