The zesty Lemon/Lime flavor really hits the spot, refreshes and quenches one's thirst simultaneously. The after taste is very pleasant and delightful. I found the flavor of the Mountain Dew ICE to be significantly superior to other brands of Lemon/Lime carbonated soft drinks that I have tried out over the years. My wife and I are not soft drink soda fans, but we found the refreshing flavor of the Mountain Dew ICE, Lemon Lime Soda, 16 Fluid Ounce Can, 12 Pack to be quite likable. We normally do not keep any carbonated soft drinks in the pantry or refrigerator. In the past the only times that we have purchased other brands of carbonated soft drinks has been when our children and grandchildren were visiting our home. I will be reviewing a 12-pack of the new flavor of Mountain Dew, The ICE. The cans sport the distinctive neon-like green color that you won't mistake for anything else. I would recognize Mountain Dew color a mile away. This has been my favorite go-to drink for the longest time, and the new ICE flavor won't disappoint. The tall 16 fl oz can definitely stands out among its smaller 12 fl oz counterparts that I was accustomed to. The new ICE is not advertised as a reduced-calorie or a reduced-sugar content yet it appears to be so. There are fewer calories and less sugar compared to the regular version. One can contains only 130 calories. As far as ingredients, the Nutrition Facts panel lists sucralose (sugar substitute) and only 11% sugar or 33 grams which is roughly two carbs. This fact is important for those folks who count their carbs intake. The new larger can also contains 72 mg of caffeine that is a bit unusual for a lemon lime soda. This however comes down to only 4.5 mg per one fluid ounce. And to top it off, it has a splash of real juice. The new Mountain Dew ICE tastes real good, especially when chilled. Mildly sweet and not overwhelming. Even though I was aware of the sugar substitutes, I couldn't tell that when tasting, and it leaves no aftertaste. The only thing is, I couldn't fit these cans in the rack on the refrigerator door so had to get creative and clear some space on the shelf. This however is a minor inconvenience. Overall, I am very pleased with the new Mountain Dew ICE flavor. Will definitely restock when I run out of it and highly recommend to anyone.
