You can transfer your old cricket sim card that has the line into this phone with no need to chat with customer service. Cricket will detect it and update the type of phone you are using in the website. Or you can chat with customer service and they create an e-sim card. The agent sends a link to your email to download the e-sim and it install itself. So you keep the slot for the physical sim card open in case you add a line for another coutry or carrier after they unlock it after 6 months

I must be honest, I've only had this phone a few days so my review may change eventually but this phone has exceeded my expectations! It has so many great features and takes awhile to set everything up and explore all the features but it's well worth the time to do so! I already had Cricket service and didn't want to pay Cricket store prices for a phone and had absolutely no issue with switching my SIM card to my new phone and my service transferred over perfectly. This phone has so many protection features in place that you can set up. You can lock your apps with a pin if you don't want people to be able to see them. For instance, I locked all of my shopping apps and payment apps with a pin so that they would be protected if I accidentally left my phone somewhere. You can also set your phone to automatically lock after a chosen amount of time of inactivity. You can set your phone to be able to be located by an app if lost or stolen. There's just so much this phone can do! Plus, it's super fast and the keyboard is so easy to type from! I just can't believe the value for the price! If you are considering this phone... BUY IT!
