Elcar cell phone batteries

Both of the Motorola BX50 batteries I received from Walmart/Elcar were defective, could not be charged and both were 16 years old. The mfg dates on the batteries were 2008-11-20 %26 2008-12-01. Why is Walmart/Elcar selling cell phone batteries 16 years old? This is second time Elcar sent 16 year old batteries. Why is Walmart using Elcar? Look at all the 'blank' positive reviews on the Elcar site. Beware of buying cell phone batteries from Walmart/Elcar.
