Morton Clean and Protect Water Softener pellets have worked great in my home softener. The large pellets make it easier to fill the softener, and the bag can be easily opened at a corner, where the edge tears off, creating an ideal way to pour the salt out.

This is the only water softener salt we use.
This is the only water softener salt we use. We have tried others that didn't last as long and didn't produce the same results. Hair and body is always soft and clean after showering, while not using as much soap or shampoo. My shower stays cleaner. Clothes washer doesn't need as much soap to get clothes clean. All around the best salt for your softener. Saves money on soap and purchasing this salt from Sam's Club saves more money at a time when things have gotten too expensive.
