Sometimes you don't need a softener, but a deicer.

My review may be a bit misleading as I do not own a water softener, but I do live in Minnesota which occasionally necessitates the use of deicer on our driveway and sidewalks. At first, I was disappointed as I had intended to order the finer salt crystals but after using it for the first time, I've "seen the light" and appreciate how this is better than the finer crystals in some situations. I'll definitely be stocking this going forward! Pouring it was a snap. Carrying the bag was no problem at all. The convenience of having the salt on hand when I need it is priceless.

1. The salt is in the Garden section whose outside door was locked so I had to walk all through the crowded store to get to the salt. Very inconvenient. 2. Then I was forced to go all the way back to the front with 5 - 40 pound bags of salt and wait 10 minutes in line to check out. Extremely inconvenient. Management must address the excess wait times for checkout and operation of the garden department. This store needs an overhaul.
