An absolutely amazing starter fertilizer. I threw it directly on rye and wheat seeds and it did not damage the seeds whatsoever and the grass grew fast and beautifully green with strong enough roots to not be effected by the freezes, and the deer love it. Very, very fine powder, but had some surprisingly tough chunks in it that needed to be broken up. I would imagine that this would be because of moisture in the room that it is stored in before being shipped, which was pretty annoying, and it turned straight back into the fine crystal powder when it is crushed. I still give a 5 star though just because of how amazing the fertilizer worked on the grasses. It is really a quality fertilizer, but do not store it in a humid environment before use after you receive it or after you use some of it because it is very sensitive to moisture and becomes very caked up. I made this mistake when I used the second half of the bag a month later, and honestly thought about just dissolving it in some water and spraying it.
