We have been taking about getting a cargo carrier for years to help with all the cargo for long road trips. We went on a big two week road trip this summer and finally bit the bullet and ordered this and I am so glad! It was easy to install and worked perfectly. We moved locations a few times and once our stuff was all unloaded we just kept the carrier in the upright position and as we drove around and needed our stroller from the back of our van it just took a moment to put the carrier down, get the stroller out, and put it back up into the upright position. While driving the carrier wasn't even noticeable - our van drove the same and was still easy to maneuver and park. We could even still partially see out our back camera for backing up (although we did have one person directing backup sometimes just to make sure). The one thing I would recommend is buying extra straps. We used a couple of extra ones we bought in addition to the ones provided, just for extra security.
