The LSS-Mini uses AA batteries, and its compact size makes it convenient and portable for traveling. The two-thread lockstitch keeps seams from unraveling, just like in a full-sized machine. Great sewing machine and WONDERFUL price Walmart!!I bought this to make homemade masks for my children and me and it does a great job at doing that.Ive sewn up some clothes to.Never fails me.It already comes with thread in it ready to go and a needle.You can take off the guard if you like.I really like it,no complaints.highly recommend!

It is a small sewing machine but for someone who has never used a sewing machine it works awesome for being small. I bought this to make mask as I could not find an inexpensive large sewing machine, it works perfect I have made several masks with it. Don't let the price or the size fool you. I thought because it ran off of batteries it still has enough power to sew for a quite awhile.
